About

AuthorPic1
My love of stories started young. Books were my constant companions through a childhood that bounced me from school to school, and I spent more time with my nose in a book or hunched over a drawing than playing with the ever-changing cast of children.

After initially refusing to commit to a major in college, I eventually graduated with two: English Literature and Studio Art. Along the way I read a forest of books and picked up lots of random skills like conversational Japanese and how to make chain mail (as in armor, not letters no one wants). I also got a job at the campus library—an occupation that has persisted though the locations have changed.

While I love to travel, I’m always happy to come back home to Colorado where I live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with my wonderful husband, precocious daughter, and two playful cats. My favorite season is autumn, when the leaves are a riot of color and I can finally wear my collection of fuzzy socks. I have a weakness for sweets and pizza.

Art and Metalwork:

If you've read A Drop of Magic, you know my main character is a metalsmith who sometimes makes chainmail in her spare time. Well, I followed the old adage, "write what you know." When I'm not frantically trying to meet my writing deadlines, I weave together intricate chainmail jewelry and sell it in my etsy shop: Wimsi Design. You can find my current creations here.
